Account & Settings
Signing in, changing your details, and keeping notifications the way you want them.
How do I create an account?
Tap Create Account from the sign-in screen and follow the prompts — your progress starts saving to it immediately. You can also sign in with Google, or with Apple on iPhone and iPad.
Can I link more than one sign-in method?
Yes — Settings → Manage Account → Linked Accounts lets you connect Google or Apple alongside your email. Linking doesn't merge or share story data, and the provider you created the account with stays connected. You can disconnect any other provider; you just won't be able to sign in with it until you reconnect it.
I forgot my password — now what?
Use Forgot Password on the sign-in screen, enter your email, and MythSmith sends a reset link.
Can I change my email, username, or password?
Yes — all three live under Settings → Account. Changes take effect immediately.
How do notification preferences work?
Push and email notifications are controlled separately under Notification Preferences. You can also choose which kinds you get — mentions, comments, social activity (like new followers), and product news — and switch marketing messages on or off on their own.
What are the optional demographics questions?
Settings → Demographics asks for an age range, gender, and region, all optional. They help us understand the community and improve recommendations, they stay private, and they never appear on your profile. Leave any of them blank — or clear an answer you already gave.
Can I download my data?
Yes. Settings → Manage Account → Data & Backups lets you request an export of your adventures, the stories and characters you created, your images, and your profile details — pick any combination. We email you when it's ready, and the download link is available for seven days. You can request up to three exports a day, and very large image collections may be trimmed to keep the archive a manageable size.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from Settings → Manage Account. Deletion is permanent — your adventures, characters, community posts and comments, follows, bookmarks, and notifications are removed and can't be recovered, so request a data export first if you want to keep anything. Scenarios you published stay available for players who already have adventures running on them, but they're no longer attributed to you.
