Ember Update

Cover art for Ember Update

Ember is a smaller patch than Loremaster, but it fixes the bug most of you actually wrote in about — so it's shipping the moment it's stable rather than waiting for a bigger release to ride along with.

Tone and safety controls now have finer steps between "cozy" and "grim," instead of jumping straight from one to the other. A few of you were running campaigns that wanted something in between, and the old three-position dial couldn't hold that line. You can adjust it mid-story at any time from the world settings panel.

Scene-art generation is roughly 40% faster end to end, mostly from batching the calls that used to happen one after another. Credit cost is unchanged.

The bigger fix: story cards were losing context on runs past a few hundred turns, where a card written early in a campaign would stop influencing new scenes even though it was still pinned. That was a bug in how cards got re-weighted against the active context window, not a design limit — it's fixed now, and old campaigns should feel it hold the line better on the next few turns.

As always, if something feels off after this update, tell us — patch notes are a summary, not the whole changelog.

Part game. Part storytelling. All yours.
